Welcome to the First Grade AT HOME learning page. Since students will be home for a period of time, we greatly appreciate you all in helping our students continue to learn and grow.  Here you will find resources that will be of guidance to you all in assisting your student in their on going learning.

Please make sure that students are:

*Daily reading for at least 20 minutes.  Have them read aloud and when they have trouble with a word, see if they can apply rules learned or use context clues to try and solve.  Make sure you are talking about what they are reading and students are able to retell the events in the story in sequential order. We are not reading for SPEED, we are reading for fluency.  Fluency is a nice flow.  Have students try and apply voice in their reading especially when they see quotes.

* Students will have access to RAZKIDS.com- Your teacher will contact you with their login and your student's password.

*Readworks.org is another reading program for the kids to access where students will be able to read nonfiction material along with comprehension activities. Students will see the link for ReadWorks on the below Choice Board.  Class Code- 62TNVT PSSWD-1234

*Make sure students are practicing their sight words lists.  Students need to be able to read the words fluently as well as be able to carry over what they have learned into their writing.

Here are all of the words:

*Math wise make sure students are practicing their fact fluency for addition up to 20 and subtraction facts. The HW that we usually send home will be available today 3-13 for parents to come pick up if they choose.  The HW pages consist of our upcoming lessons as well as some review to keep boosting math skills.  All will have access to ZEARN.org.  Your teacher will contact you regarding your student's username and password.  Zearn is amazing! With the HW we are sending home students will have access to the lessons where a teacher will instruct them on the new math skills and also allows them to play games to apply their learned skills.

* You can use Cobb Digital Libraryto access many wonderful learning resources to use at home as well!  Please take advantage of these learning tools with your students.

* When students access Cobb Digital Library students can click on DESTINY.  Then they scroll to the bottom where they will find all kinds of links to read, play learning games, as well as practice typing skills.

*Code is a super fun program that our students have done here at school.  We included student username and passwords in order for students to access at home.

*Here is the choice board for the students. Students must do at least 3 activities daily or they must due an hour of learning.  Check out the different activities that will continue to boost their learning in all subject areas. Some of the above items are incorporated into the tasks.
