This Week's Learnings:

- Math: How do we solve word problems? How do we subtract numbers? What is the difference? We are working on our fluency with our facts, but also we want students to be able to prove their answers especially when we are solving word problems. Here are some ways they can use subtraction strategies. Look for the connection with subtraction and addition too.

Writing- We are still working on writing narratives. We are looking for students to include an introduction. Here are some ideas for an introduction. STudents must work on showing order with their story by including transtions. Here are some ideas besides the basics.

Hooks are creative ways to grab your readers attention?

Phonics- Red words this week- Drill these with spelling and in writing. (old, kind, most, find, friend).

We are also discussing open syllables and closed syllables.

Science- We are learning about and exploring with magnets. What do magnets attract to? How do they repel?

Social Studies- How are we good citizens? How are we patriots? How does music contribute to our patriotism? We are also studying where we live? All students should be practicing identifying where they live on a map and a globe? Where is your continent? What is the name of your continet? Where is your country? What is it's name? Where is your state? What is your state? Where is your city? What is the city you live in? What is the capital of GA? What is your county? Where is your county? Practice using a compass rose to practice directions from your city and state.
