January 6-January 10th

Happy New Year Wishes to you all! We hope this year brings you all much joy and fun! We are so excited to have the students back! 2020 here we come!

Here are our learnings of the week:

Writing- This 9 weeks we are writing opinion writings! An opinion is what you think or feel about something. Students will have to state their opinion and then their goal is to state reasons to support their thought/feeling/opinion.

Phonics- We are reviewing a lot of things that we have been learning throughout the year. What is the -ck rule? How do you know to spell a word c vs. k? What are digraphs? What are blends?

Reading: What is a central message of a story? Why does an author want to teach you something? Who in the story needed to learn a lesson? How did you know? The Central Message of a story is the HEART of the story!

Social Studies: What are landforms? Common landforms found on dry land include mountains, hills, deserts, valleys, dunes and plateaus. Bodies of water, such as rivers, bays and seas, are also considered as landforms.
